The 2018 Winter Lecture
“The natives were friendly”. Nikolaus Pevsner and Suffolk revisited.
An illustrated talk by the architectural historian, Dr. James Bettley FSA. James Bettley’s revision of the Pevsner Architectural Guide to Suffolk was published in 2015. He had previously revised the Architectural Guide to Essex, published in 2007, and he is currently at work on the Hertfordshire volume. In this talk, he seeks to understand how Nikolaus Pevsner went about the massive task of exploring Suffolk in 1957 and compares it with his own experiences fifty years later.

The 2019 Summer Party
Thursday, June 13th 2019 from 6.30pm to 8.30pm
The Summer Drinks Party sponsored by Reeman Dansie is taking place at Langham Hall. This annual event provides an ideal opportunity to hear about the society's work over the previous year, meet other members of the society and bring prospective members while enjoying drinks and canapés in a beautiful setting in the Vale.
